Necessary Materials
A computer with ZBrush installed, a tablet (Wacom, XPPen, etc.), and internet access. We also recommend using a webcam and microphone.
About this edition
Embark on a captivating journey through Dynamic Figures in ZBrush with Rafa in this 12-class online course. Delve into the intricacies of human form as you explore the transformative concepts of gesture, spaces, proportion, planes, shapes, layers and observation.
INSIDE’s theme will be Dynamic Figures
Creating a Dynamic figure includes many different concepts of anatomy, like:
Gesture – understanding the flow of the human body reflecting his/her soul
Spaces – how to read and feel the distance between the forms to build a good proportion.
Planes – how to create a simplified plane where the secondary forms can lay down on it.
Imaginary Shapes – How to compare complex forms with simple shapes.
Flow – creating forms that follow a direction and rhythm of the model´s gesture
Layers – how to read and feel the distance between the forms to build a good proportion.
Non Linear Observation – learn how to see and interpret the reference as forms instead of lines.
Artist Forms – based on realistc like human scans.
Learning from – art pieces references.
Learn & Practice
In this INSIDE, the students will learn modeling in Zbrush through practical experience. The classes will be fully immersed in exercises designed to enhance observation skills, enabling students to finish the course with polished portfolio pieces.
THE TEACHER
Rafa Souza
Rafa Souza, a professor and 3D artist since 1999, began his career studying artistic and 3D drawing. He has been teaching 3D for twenty years and founded his own online school in 2014. He refined his skills with great masters at the Accademia D’Arte Firenze in Italy and Gnomon School in Los Angeles. Passionate about art research, he launched Rafa Souza Academy, where he teaches everything he has learned over decades of career to thousands of 3D enthusiasts.

The course will last four weeks, with three classes per week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. On Mondays and Wednesdays, the focus will be on content. On Saturdays, we will focus on feedback for the artwork you produce throughout the week.
